Dr. Bruessow earned her Doctor of Medical Science degree from Shenandoah University and is an alumna of the Long Island University/Brooklyn Hospital PA program. As an academic clinician, her work is dedicated to scholarly activities, clinical practice, and leadership service. She joined Touro University as a principal faculty member for the hybrid PA program, following her previous appointment at the Yale School of Medicine, where she was an assistant professor adjunct in the Department of Internal Medicine and served as director of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion for the PA Online program.
Dr. Bruessow is a published author of original research articles and medical textbook chapters. She has delivered over 100 presentations at international, national, and regional meetings and has served as a subject-matter expert for federal and state agencies and the media. She has served on elected and appointed boards, including the MassHealth Drug Utilization Review board, the American Academy of PAs, the NJ State Society of PAs, and several editorial boards. Her contributions have been acknowledged for academic, clinical, humanitarian, and leadership excellence. She has been recognized by the White House for health care delivery innovation, received a proclamation for community health from the legislature in Suffolk County, and honored as the PA of the year by the NY State Society of PAs and the humanitarian of the year by the NJ State Society of PAs. She has been inducted into the national honor societies Alpha Chi and Pi Alpha.
