Application Deadlines
We recommend applying early, because seats are limited. Students are admitted once per year for the Fall semester.
Note: All applicants should review the technology requirements for nursing program admission before applying.
Admission Requirements: BSN program
When reviewing candidates for the BSN program, we consider your complete application, including your academic record and commitment to nursing as a profession. Admission to the program is competitive, and meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
You can submit your application online. To apply you’ll need:
- Evidence of character, personality, and contribution to school and community life
- A minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.75
- Official transcript demonstrating completion of prerequisite courses with a C or better
Prerequisite Coursework (57 Credits)
Required Prerequisites for Admission (24 credits)
Extensive practice in the composition of clear, concise, and grammatically-correct sentences and paragraphs with special emphasis on the five-paragraph essay and the research paper. (Admission by assignment following placement test.)
This course offers a specialized review of the principles of sound nutrition and the effects of diet on personal wellbeing. Environmental, social, physical, and psychological reasons underlying poor diet are examined. Not for science majors.
This course is designed for pre-professional students as an introduction to a basic understanding of the structural organization of the human body starting with the tissues, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, digestive, and nervous systems. The course focuses on the cellular organization and on the tissue and organ levels of each system. In laboratory exercises, students study and learn structures from various available anatomical models.
This is the second of the series offered to pre-professional students. The course focuses on the organization of the cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, endocrine, urinary, and reproductive systems. Class discussions deal with the basic cellular, tissue-level and organ-level organization of each system. Functional significance as well as clinical correlations of some structures are covered. Special focus is on fertilization and reproduction, pregnancy and lactation, coronary and cerebrovascular circulation. Laboratory exercises include studying structures from available anatomical models.
Prerequisite: BIHN 120.
This course covers the structure, reproduction, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and identification of microorganisms. It includes a study of their relationship to each other and to other living organisms, their distribution in nature, and their beneficial and disease-causing effects on humans.
Techniques of public speaking. Includes the delivery of several speeches during the course of the program.
Psychology as a biological, behavioral, and social science. Topics include: critical and scientific analysis of human behavior, fundamentals of psychological research, biological bases of behavior, states of consciousness, learning, thought, memory and intelligence, social behavior and personality, mental health and adjustment, diagnosis and treatment of abnormal behavior.
Additional Required Coursework for the BSN Degree (33 credits)
The following coursework is also required for the BSN degree. Students may complete these credits before admission and transfer them in or complete them during an approved summer term. We recommend reserving no more than two courses for completion after enrollment in the BSN program.

Basic concepts in descriptive and inferential statistics, including measurement scales, frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and distribution, correlation coefficients, linear regression, probability theory, binomial distribution, and parametric and non-parametric tests of significant differences. Introduction to hypothesis testing.
Prerequisites: MAT 111 or examination.
You will need to complete 27 additional electives for the BSN degree. You may complete these credits before admission and transfer them in or complete them during an approved summer term. We recommend reserving no more than two courses for completion after enrollment in the BSN program.
Note: Additional elective credits can be completed in lieu of required coursework met through a placement exam.
Transfer Credit
Eligible students may transfer the 57 required prerequisite liberal arts and sciences credits according to the Touro University Transfer Credit Policy. Up to 33 credits may be in liberal arts, and up to 24 credits may be in the identified nursing-specific prerequisites. All transferable coursework must have been completed with a minimum grade of C or better. Credits for nursing courses taken at other institutions are not generally accepted for transfer into the BSN degree program. All BSN students must complete all NUR-coded courses at Touro Montana.
Admissions Requirements: RN-to-BS Program
When reviewing candidates for the RN-to-BS program, we consider your complete application, including your academic record and commitment to nursing as a profession.
You can submit your application online. To apply you’ll need:
- Evidence of character, personality, and contribution to school and community life
- Associate of Science in Nursing
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
- An active and unencumbered RN license in Montana or hold a privilege to practice in Montana
Academic Support
Students in the Montana BSN program have access to academic advisement, financial aid guidance, technology support, library resources, and research support. Advisors work with students throughout the program to help them understand requirements, plan course progression, and stay on track for graduation.
Confidentiality
As per Federal regulations, the status of an applicant in the admissions process can be discussed only with the applicant. The program cannot respond to requests for information from concerned family, friends, associates, or other interested parties.
